Anosh Ahmed, MD shares how you should invest in your health: When it comes to caffeine consumption, less is more. High caffeine intakes result in poor sleep and can raise blood pressure and heart rate. Exercise is secondary to calorie restriction when it comes to losing weight, but everyone must reach optimal cardiac health to prevent future heart attacks and strokes. One of the best ways to start an exercise regimen that works is to walk 15 minutes a day. Gradually increase this until you are walking 10,000 steps per day or the equivalent of 5 miles. You can get these steps in as part of your daily routine or commit to going on walks. If you do not regularly get outside, treadmills are sufficient, along with gym exercise.

Dr. Anosh Ahmed is a practicing internal medicine physician and active member of his local community. What has been the hardest obstacle you’ve overcome? The fact that I felt that I was in school forever between middle school, high school, college, going to medical school, and then going into residency training. I think other people that I know have always had the luxury of focusing on school and school only, but with me I was always running a full-time business and going to school at the same time. That balance has always been really difficult. Still, I would not change one thing.
