Trei Amici Games launches Too Many Turtles: The Card Game? Too Many Turtles is a tactical board card game in which two players compete over the course of up to 3 rounds to create the most valuable army of turtles that they can. The player with the most points at the end of the round wins and the game goes to the first player to win 2 out of 3 rounds. On the other side, you have an army of daredevil turtles being controlled by humans trying to stop turtron from saving the world. Wielding terrible effect cards like Debilitating Pollution and Plastic, they will stop at nothing to keep the valiant hero Turtron from cleaning the environment and helping the turtle population to reassert itself. Thanks to our amazing partners at SEE Turtles, you’ll be able to save turtles no matter which deck you play! In fact, we will pledge to save at least 50 turtles for every person who backs our game. In other words, your figurative turtle saving antics can literally save endangered sea turtles in real life.
Now a little info about real world turtle problems. Turtle Foundation. The Turtle Foundation is a European-based conservation organization dedicated to educating people on the looting of sea turtle nesting grounds across the world. With representation in Germany, Switzerland, Leichtenstein, the United States, and Indonesia, the Turtle Foundation is one of the leaders on our list in educating and spreading awareness on turtles.
The field is laid out in 3 rows forming a pyramid. In your back row, you have four slots for turtles. Every time you summon a turtle, that turtle must start in the back row and move up the field. Some turtles will allow you to summon them into higher rows, and some effects cards even affect movement, but we will address that more in the upcoming Movement section. Your starting hand will consist of 7 cards and your deck will be placed to the side of the field. Your pond (Discard pile) will be right above your deck. You will draw a card at the start of each turn, unless you are starting a round. And now, without further ado, the stars of our show. Literally! Admit it, you’re here for the turtles. Don’t worry, so are we. Our turtles are split into three distinct types of turtles. Turtles are classified as either Land, Ocean, or Freshwater Turtles. Decks are built around a specific type of turtle so match your turtles up with the proper biome for an easy boost to your turtles HP. You may move and summon a turtle every turn, and on occasion, you might find yourself in a position to summon more than one turtle in the same turn. Keep an eye out for specific turtle effects so you know what your turtles can do!
The Idea: For those of you who don’t know us, we are three huge nerds who love gaming. We work normal jobs and we sometimes play DnD at 1 am because work was hard and we need to relax. One day, while we were at work, we had the thought that we could create games. An idea took hold, and it’s stuck with us like a shell to a turtle. Too Many Turtles is a fun and fast paced game about the world’s slowest reptiles! It wasn’t our first idea, and very possibly not our best idea, but it stuck. Almost 6 months later, we have an actual game and an incredible Non-Profit Partner in SEE Turtles.
